Tony Maida supported a final rule that healthcare providers must report Medicare overpayments going back six years, saying the original 10-year requirement “would have presented a lot of challenges” because “computer systems change. Records are harder to find. Your employees change.” Mr. Maida added that another provision allowing six months of investigation before making a report is “probably better than the ‘all deliberate speed’ in the proposed rule, because that sounds like you need to drop everything and devote all your time to that.”
