7th Circ. Upholds 9.5-Year Religious Pilgrim Fraud Sentence

Krista Pikus and Joshua Buchman, at trial and before the Seventh Circuit, represented a Chicago travel agent accused of fraud against Muslim pilgrims. The appellate court wrote that the lower court’s sentencing decision against the travel agent came “troublingly close to making assumptions” but held that it could not find “that the district court committed clear error.”
