Paul McGrath discussed the so-called “gig economy” of independent employees, and the UK’s Taylor Report which recommended support for platform-based “gig economy” working while ensuring fairness for participants. “The Review’s objectives are certainly laudable and it makes a number of sensible suggestions,” Mr. McGrath said, but he added that “there is clearly a lot of further detail that will need to be ironed out of many of the proposals before they can become law.”
