Jeffrey Stone discussed corporate cyberlaw concerns in this interview. Mr. Stone said the most critical risks for companies are to understand the data security legal framework, to “steward the data so that people aren’t afraid to deal with you electronically,” and to make data protection thorough but not burdensome to users. He added that McDermott advises clients on these concerns as well as helping them “handle—steward if you will—the amount of burgeoning consumer data that companies are collecting.”
