About 16% of Nonprofit Hospital Orgs Face New Excise Tax on Exec Pay

Ralph DeJong said that because the new tax law imposes an excise tax on highly compensated nonprofit organization executives, some nonprofit health systems have moved to hasten the vesting date for deferred compensation packages. Others have considered consolidating the workforce from a number of related organizations under a unified payroll structure to reduce the number of highly compensated workers subject to the tax, Mr. DeJong added.
