Miller Baker assessed in this televised interview the Supreme Court’s ruling against the Aereo video streaming service, saying that the Court “went out of its way to make it clear that this decision would not necessarily apply to different technologies … but at least with this particular technology, this is a violation of the Copyright Act.” Mr. Baker noted that Congress had applied the Copyright Act to cable television and that “the Court today said there is no material distinction between the cable television transmitter and what Aereo is doing” – adding, “I thought they [Aereo] were going to lose this case.”
