Alabama Senate Committee Rejects Bill to Tax Digital Goods and Services

Stephen Kranz said the Alabama Department of Revenue’s contention that its attempt to tax digital goods and services simply clarified existing law “was seen by many as plainly inaccurate.” The attempt was turned back in legislative committee, and Mr. Kranz said “it is refreshing to see elected policymakers rejecting such outlandish claims. Hopefully, the department will now … administer the laws which the Legislature actually did pass.”
