William Gaede and McDermott were praised for their “important victory” in the Federal Circuit for client Ambry Genetics. The court ruled that gene testing patents asserted by Myriad Genetics Inc. were ineligible for patent protection. Myriad had asked the appellate court to overturn a Utah federal judge’s rejection of a preliminary injunction motion against Ambry for marketing a competing product.
