Andrea Kramer Named One of Chicago’s Most Influential Women Lawyers by Crain’s Chicago Business

August 4, 2017 – McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Andrea Kramer has been selected to Crain’s Chicago Business’ inaugural list of the “Most Influential Women Lawyers in Chicago.” The list highlights 60 of Chicago’s most accomplished and pioneering female lawyers.

Ms. Kramer is a founding member of the Firm’s Diversity Committee and co-chair of the Gender Diversity Subcommittee. She was instrumental in establishing McDermott’s formal training and mentorship programs, including the Firm’s core competency requirements, which guide our lawyers to obtain appropriate substantive experiences as they advance to partnership.

Ms. Kramer focuses her practice in the area of tax law. She has a sophisticated and unique multi-disciplinary legal practice that covers all aspects of financial transactions and derivatives, with a focus on taxation, regulation, contract design, trading operations and documentation.

In their profile, Crain’s noted Ms. Kramer’s previous recognition as one of the “50 Most Influential Women Lawyers in America” by the National Law Journal, which recognized her “demonstrated power to change the legal landscape, shape public affairs, launch industries, and do big things.”

The award is just the latest recognition for Ms. Kramer in 2017, as it comes on the heels of her induction into the Legal 500 Hall of Fame, her listing in Best Lawyers’ “Women of Influence” and her shortlist nomination for Chambers USA Women in Law’s “Inspiring Role Model in Promoting Gender Diversity in the Legal Profession” category.
