Arne Fuchs Appointed Regional Representative for Europe and Russia of ICC’s Young Arbitrators Forum

Overview

Frankfurt (April 13, 2017) – Arne Fuchs, an attorney in McDermott’s international arbitration practice based in Frankfurt, Germany, has been appointed as Regional Representative for the Europe and Russia Chapter of the International Chamber of Commerce’s (ICC) Young Arbitrators Forum (YAF) with a 2017-2019 mandate. Worldwide, representatives from 40 countries were appointed by the ICC to promote and develop the dynamic global network of young arbitration talent.

With over 10,000 members worldwide, ICC YAF is the largest young arbitration practitioners’ association of its kind, reflecting ICC’s position as the world’s leading arbitral institution.

Arne focuses his practice on international dispute resolution, with an emphasis on international arbitration and public international law, including investment treaty arbitration. He has experience with disputes conducted under the ICSID Convention, ICC, LCIA, HKIAC, DIS and UNCITRAL Rules, as well as pure ad-hoc arbitration. Arne also regularly acts as secretary of the tribunal in international arbitrations (commercial and treaty).

Arne’s appointment as ICC YAF Regional Representative follows his recognition as a dispute resolution specialist in GAR’s inaugural edition of Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration – Future Leaders 2017 which was announced in November 2016.

“Our International Arbitration team, led by Sabine Konrad, enjoys an unparalleled market reputation and Arne is a prime example of the calibre of talent we nurture here at McDermott”, said Norbert Schulte, head of McDermott’s German practice.

“Arne is a most talented lawyer and I am very happy to see him being distinguished by the ICC. I could not be prouder of him,” said Sabine Konrad.

McDermott’s pre-eminent international arbitration practice is globally recognized and regularly represents clients in investor-state arbitrations, as well as in international commercial arbitrations. The subject-matter of disputes handled by the team ranges from European energy infrastructure projects to Latin American offshore oil extraction and Middle Eastern property investment and from construction projects to complex insurance coverage disputes. The lawyers advise on all aspects of disputes, including strategic positioning, regulatory constraints and commercial options. Lawyers in the Group also regularly provide non-contentious advice to parties negotiating commercial agreements on dispute resolution options, strategy and risk management. The Firm’s international arbitration and mediation practice is comprised of an integrated team of lawyers spread across three continents. Members of this practice are situated in our offices in the United States, France, England, Germany, Belgium and Italy, as well as in China, through McDermott’s strategic alliance with MWE China Law Offices, and Seoul.
