Anne Hance commented on proposed CMS regulations to eliminate mandatory drug coverage requirements under Medicare Part D that “I think the agency is right to appreciate the economics” of such a change.” Ms. Hance noted that, in hindsight, the proposed may have been foreshadowed when CMS refused to require comprehensive formularies as part of essential health benefits that insurance companies must cover in Affordable Care Act marketplaces.
