Elizabeth Lewis, McDermott’s pro bono partner, discussed the Firm’s funding of a fellowship for a blind lawyer who assists disabled clients, saying it typifies diversity efforts to foster new ideas and a positive workplace. Citing McDermott’s diversity subcommittee for people with disabilities, Ms. Lewis said, “We view ourselves as a law firm in a unique position to bring about change in a lot of different ways, both as lawyers and also as corporate citizens and members of the communities.”
