Boston Lawyer Leads Effort to Toss Rhode Island Murder Conviction
Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, July 23, 2015
Michael Kendall was profiled for leading McDermott’s pro bono effort, along with Matthew Turnell and Katherine Dyson and the New England Innocence Project, to secure a Rhode Island judge’s dismissal of a 1992 murder conviction. Five other firms turned down the case before McDermott took it on and devoted hundreds of hours to it, and Mr. Kendall asserted that “we weren’t going to take on a case unless we believed in it 100 percent.”
