Robert Zelnick was quoted as counsel to a Northern California craft brewery, when a federal judge declined to dismiss a lawsuit by the estate of late jazz great Thelonious Monk alleging that the brewery used Monk’s name and likeness without permission. “While we are disappointed that the court did not dismiss the Monk Estate’s claims out of hand, we are eager to proceed to litigation to reveal the facts underlying these meritless claims,” Mr. Zelnick said.
