Lionel Lesur said that, although the €5.6 million fine against a major French broadcaster for failing to give a competitor better terms to share broadcasting rights from the Eiffel Tower is unlikely to have a significant impact on the company, it will force a change in commercial behavior. The fine “will have consequences in how they negotiate hosting contracts and for the next tenure for tenancy,” Mr. Lesur continued, adding that an appeal was “unlikely.”
