Eugene Goldman commented on the SEC’s approach to regulatory enforcement. “Commissioner Peirce will continue to bring a strong voice for deregulation to the table,” said Goldman. “However, the SEC Chair historically sets the agenda. Chair Clayton’s approach to deregulation will likely be less aggressive than hers, and he will continue to have the votes to approve most of the recommendations from the SEC enforcement staff.”
