Case to Return Fraud Money Went All the Way to U.S. Supreme Court

Marcos Jimenez, along with Gregg Fierman, received Distressed Real Estate Top Dealmaker 2015 recognition in South Florida for McDermott’s work in a landmark fraud case that forced a major trophy asset sale. Mr. Jimenez represented a French government organization that sought to take back Miami property assets from two convicted developers, who appealed to the Supreme Court but lost. “It took six years from start to finish,” said Mr. Jimenez about the matter, which culminated in an $80 million Miami property sale in November 2014.
