Linda Ji, commenting on a big drop in Chinese purchases of US companies, said heightened US scrutiny of China-based acquisitions “does create caution in many people’s minds when Chinese buyers are involved.” Ms. Ji explained that Chinese buyers “have become more cautious even in cases where parties don’t think the deal has any impact on U.S. national security, but the deal size is relatively large.”
