Chris Jedrey Named “MVP of the Year” for Health Industry Law Practice

Overview

McDermott is proud to announce that Christopher M. Jedrey has been selected by Law360 as a 2017 “MVP of the Year” in the health industry category. This distinction is part of Law360’s annual listing of elite lawyers selected for distinguishing themselves through record-breaking deals, successes in complex litigation and outstanding contributions in their area of law. Chris was one of three lawyers chosen in the health industry after leading the McDermott team that helped Steward Health Care System become the largest privately held for-profit health care system in the country.

A year ago, Steward was a Massachusetts health care system. The McDermott team helped Steward form a partnership with its REIT partner, MPT – a financing model that is new to the acute care hospital industry and one that supported Steward in its extraordinary growth. Today, Steward is a national health care system that includes 36 hospitals in 10 states, 37,000 employees, 1,400 employed physicians, 4,700 integrated network physicians and has projected revenues of $8 billion in 2018. Chris served as the lead attorney in each of the deals that resulted in the client’s extraordinary transformation over just 12 months.

He was named Boston “Lawyer of the Year” for Non-Profit/Charities Law in 2017 and Boston “Lawyer of the Year” for Health Care Law in 2012 by The Best Lawyers in America.
