McDermott Secures Voluntary Dismissal of Claims Against Johnson Controls

McDermott Will & Emery recently successfully concluded a patent infringement lawsuit brought by patent assertion entity Secure Cam against Johnson Controls Security Solutions, LLC (a subsidiary of Johnson Controls International, Inc.).

Johnson Controls Security Solutions (formerly Tyco) is one of the largest suppliers of security systems in the United States. In September 2018, Secure Cam filed a lawsuit against the client in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida, alleging that Johnson Controls infringes a Secure Cam patent.

After initial negotiations, Secure Cam voluntarily dismissed its claims without extracting any payment from Johnson Controls.
