CMS’s Large Scale Appeals Monitoring Effort Could Have Sweeping Stars Impact

Ankur Goel said that a new CMS industry-wide appeals timeliness monitoring project “is trying to avoid a situation where some [Medicare Advantage] plans’ star ratings are being downgraded and others aren’t.” Mr. Goel predicted CMS will implement the project “right away with the data that plans already have, so there’s going to be very limited time for plans to get that data organized.”
