Coal Plants See Sliver of Hope in EPA Mercury Rule Win

Jacob Hollinger said that, although the D.C. Circuit’s decision to uphold the Obama administration’s limits on mercury and other toxic emissions from coal- and oil-fired power plants could be appealed, “If the Supreme Court were to look at this rule, it won’t be until sometime next year and the compliance date is next year. I think a lot of the companies that have been affected by the rule have been taking steps to make sure they will comply with the rule or making plans to retire their plants.”
