Amandeep Sidhu, who has played a major role in McDermott’s pro bono work with the Sikh coalition to promote Sikh inclusion in the US military, said of a new federal court ruling that a Sikh college student can enroll in ROTC with his religious articles intact, “We’re very, very pleased to see a district judge has spoken so clearly on this issue, but a lot of work still needs to be done to change this policy.” Mr. Sidhu added, “We recognize that a Sikh soldier has to meet very high standards.
