Daniel Martin, who represents multiple New York investors, and said his clients “would love” a big wave of distressed asset sell-offs and repurchases for maturing 10-year CMBS loans, such as occurred in the aftermath of the savings and loan crisis. However, he continued, “to a certain extent, it’s not going to happen like in the 90s…because lending standards got more stringent.”
