Erin Turley and Allison Wilkerson stated in a written communication that the prototypical 401(k) plan investment structure does not effectively promote proper investment of retirement assets. “Participants often lack the knowledge or time to properly analyze investment alternatives offered throughout the plan and, therefore, are not the best decision-makers when it comes to generating investment returns,” the two lawyers wrote.
