Euromoney Legal Media Group named McDermott Will & Emery’s Transactions partner Lisa O’Neill “Best in M&A” at the Europe Women in Business Law Awards. The Awards recognize leading female lawyers who are setting new standards in innovative work practices and leading the way in their field.
Lisa led the McDermott team representing Praxair, Inc., a global industrial gases company, in a series of divestitures, required for the consummation of the proposed $90 billion Praxair-Linde merger. Under Lisa’s leadership, the 100-lawyer strong team advised Praxair on $5.85 billion sale of the majority of its businesses in Europe to Taiyo Nippon Sanso Corporation, and $3.3 billion divestment of North American and South American assets by Praxair, Inc. and Linde AG to Messer and CVC Capital Partners Fund VII.

The all-share merger of equals created a global industrial gas leader with a market capitalization of approximately $90 billion and over 80,000 employees across more than 100 countries.
