Fearing Lower Risk-Adjusted Pay, MA Plans Want CMS to Go ‘Back to Zero’ on EDS Use

Ankur Goel commented on problems with implementing the new Medicare Advantage encounter data system (EDS) for reimbursement, noting that “the point of moving to a new system would be to make the risk score more accurate and if it’s not accomplishing that, it should be postponed…If it’s not working correctly, it’s unclear why you would use it at all.”
