Tony Maida called the publicized announcement of federal Medicare Fraud Strike Force charges “a chance to get in front of the public and say we’re looking for fraud, we’re going to criminally prosecute people who commit fraud.” Mr. Maida suggested that, while the charges indicate that fraud is not going away, large decreases in certain types of billing fraud in some cities where the Strike Force operates show the program’s effectiveness.
