WASHINGTON, DC (April 24, 2017) — McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that eight-term former US Representative Jeff Miller has joined the Firm’s Government Strategies group as a Senior Legislative Advisor in the Firm’s DC office. In this role, Mr. Miller will work closely with former US Representative Jim Moran and other Firm lobbyists to provide bipartisan insight and solutions to clients with regard to lobbying, government contracting, and congressional investigations.
Mr. Miller served Florida’s First Congressional District containing Pensacola and the western panhandle from 2001 to 2017. During his time in Congress, Mr. Miller was the highly respected Chair of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee. Mr. Miller also served eight years on the House Intelligence Committee and as a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee.
Mr. Miller was an early supporter of President Trump, and after fifteen years in Congress he is well known by members of the Administration and a number of leaders of the various Departments. “Jeff’s knowledge of the Administration will be of great value to clients,” said Steve Ryan, partner and head of McDermott’s Government Strategies practice. “His congressional experience will enhance our ability to serve clients in the health care, defense and intelligence industries, and he will provide our government contracting clients with valuable insights and comprehensive solutions to a wide range of complex issues.”
Congressman Miller’s arrival continues the momentum sparked by McDermott’s high-profile hiring of former Congressman Jim Moran. Mr. Miller and Mr. Moran will join forces to provide a bipartisan approach to a vast array of issues within the Government Strategies arena.
