Marion Abecassis was among 19 co-authors of this proposal, resulting from a meeting that involved representatives from more than 20 European partners and recommended the founding of an expert European Steering Committee to assess the potential benefits and drawbacks of genome editing and to design risk matrices and scenarios for a responsible use of this promising technology.
