Lionel Lesur called it important and positive that France’s competition authority will issue a press release following dawn enforcement raids. The action “reduces the advantage that the companies who have been raided enjoy over their competitors who haven’t in terms of applying for leniency,” Mr. Lesur said. “I’ve worked for clients who didn’t know their competitors had been raided until a few days after, by which time others had got in front of them in the queue for leniency.” He added that the new policy will not eliminate the unfairness, but it should help.
