Düsseldorf (June 1, 2017) – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce the arrival of Daniel von Brevern, new antitrust partner in its growing Düsseldorf office. His appointment will further strengthen the Firm’s German Antitrust and Competition practice which has become increasingly visible in recent months.
Daniel von Brevern, who joins from Linklaters where he was a counsel, has over 15 years of experience in antitrust and competition law, gained both in Brussels and in Düsseldorf. He was involved in numerous complex merger control and cartel proceedings before the German Federal Cartel Office, the European Commission, as well as in numerous court proceedings. Some of the prominent cases he was involved in include Macquarie/Open Grid Europe, Vodafone/Kabel Deutschland and the recent EDEKA/Tengelmann proceedings.
Daniel has particular experience in banking and insurance, energy, pharmaceutical, health care and automotive sectors. He regularly advises on competition law compliance and has extensive state aid law experience. His clients include Bregal Capital, European Energy Exchange, Deutsche Pfandbriefbank and Macquarie.
