Hanjin Says U.S.-Bound Ship Is Being Held ‘Hostage’

Darren Azman, as attorney for a Bermuda-based container owner that is among the cargo owners impacted by the Hanjin Shipping bankruptcy, said Hanjin rejected leases on its 20,000 containers but failed to return the boxes to Asia as required. Mr. Azman suggested to the bankruptcy court that his client could force cargo owners to pay to return Hanjin’s containers to Asia to get their goods.
