Daniel Gottlieb, commenting on cyber attacks against provider organizations, warned that cyber criminals can gain access to a computer network by striking at any connected information system or medical device. Veleka Peeples-Dyer added that “government regulation of this area has been slow” because the FDA “only recommended that medical device manufacturers consider cybersecurity risks” but did not require action,” and because “it is simply not possible for the FDA to anticipate where the law will need to go in the future.” Read the full article.
