Tony Maida assessed a bankruptcy filing made by a diagnostic laboratory following its settlement of fraud charges brought by the Department of Justice, noting that isn’t necessarily common for companies to file for bankruptcy after reaching settlements with the government. However, he added, the lab and the government might now negotiate a different type of settlement in light of the filing.
