McDermott was recognized as one of Law360’s Health Practice Groups of the Year for its expertise in health care deals spawned by the Affordable Care Act. Cited were the merger of Northwestern Memorial HealthCare with Cadence Health in Chicago (which John Callahan said “underscored the trend in the industry of nonprofits to scale up”) and private equity firm Beecken Petty O’Keefe & Co.’s purchase of Maxor National Pharmacy Services Corp. (the kind of deal that Stephen Bernstein said “requires bespoke, planned interactions with regulators to ensure the licensure post-acquisition is in place”).
