McDermott’s Washington office was noted as pro bono legal counsel to a Keynan woman in a human trafficking case against her employer, a one-time official in Kenya’s Washington, DC embassy who brought her to the US as a nanny but kept her virtually imprisoned. A civil suit expected to be filed for the woman this fall will seek more than $265,000 in unpaid wages and overtime from her former employer.
