Daniel Gottlieb offered guidance to healthcare providers on coping with the forms required by the HHS Office of Civil Rights’ phase two HIPAA privacy compliance audits. “If you find that the Audit Protocol indicates that auditors will ask whether you have a particular document on-hand and you don’t, it’s time to create it, identify an appropriate alternative document or determine that the document is not required by the HIPAA regulations for your practice,” Mr. Gottlieb advised.
