Nick Alarif commented on the US Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS’s) efforts to reduce the Medicare appeals backlog. “I think the HHS has made a lot of assumptions based on the notion the alternative appeal resolution options will keep humming,” he said. “That will depend on whether appellants feel they’re getting fair and expeditious adjudication through those programs.”
