Byron Kalogerou, a veteran general counsel at Tyco International’s fire and security business before joining McDermott, expressed his belief that law firms and their outside counsel “want to return to the relationship-based arrangements that used to be the normal course, rather than simply the transactional relationship that I think has become more standard. But that’s only going to come through a greater degree of transparency. I like to say that transparency equals trust, and I think we’re starting to get there.”
