Neil Kawashima described the interest of high wealth clients in a new Illinois tax credit that allows donations to approved private-school scholarship funds. “Obviously [there’s] the philanthropic benefit of helping low-income children obtain scholarships for tuition to private schools and parochial schools, but also there are significant tax benefits as well,” he said, which could mean that all credits are claimed within days of availability.
