Ira Coleman said the use of alternative payment models in healthcare “shows tons of value and can reduce lots of costs, but it’s hard to do it when your infrastructure is already set and the places of care are already set. How do you change the way the whole delivery system is structured?” Mr. Coleman also asked about Medicare accountable care organizations, “In the next wave, how are they going to do a better job of running them, keeping them in the black, and making them attractive to the best and brightest in the physician community?”
