Andrew Roberson commented regarding IRS plans to use private debt collection contractors on some tax debts that “although the Congress and the IRS are taking steps to alleviate” potential taxpayer concerns about scammers and the tactics collection agencies may use to get taxpayers to pay, “it remains to be seen if the implementation of these steps will provide the necessary safeguards to taxpayers.”
