CHICAGO (February 5, 2014) – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery LLP today announced that it has named partner Jennifer M. Mikulina as head of the Firm’s global trademark prosecution practice, effective February 1, 2014. Ms. Mikulina, Chicago-based partner in the Firm’s Intellectual Property (IP) Prosecution, Transactions & Strategy Practice Group, will focus on driving continued growth for the Firm in this key area.

Ms. Mikulina, who has been with McDermott since 2001, is currently vice-chair of the Firm’s Gender Diversity Committee and has served as chair of the Pro Bono & Community Service Committee for McDermott’s Chicago office. She is a member of the International Trademark Association (“INTA”) and an active participant on INTA’s Pro Bono Committee. Ms. Mikulina served on the Editorial Board of the American Bar Association’s Annual Review of Intellectual Property Law Developments for three years, including as Lead Editor for the Trademark Chapter in 2011. She is a member of the Board of Directors for WITS (Working in the Schools) and Lawyers for the Creative Arts. In addition, she received the McDermott Will & Emery Award for Outstanding Commitment and Service to the Community in 2011 (Chicago office) and in 2006 (firmwide). For the past three years, Ms. Mikulina has been ranked in the World Trademark Review 1000 as one of the world’s best trademark practitioners, was ranked as a top woman lawyer by Illinois SuperLawyers in 2013 and has been recognized by Illinois SuperLawyers as a “Rising Star” for several consecutive years.
