Judge Caps Escobar FCA Claims, Tells Attys ‘Get On With It’

Laura McLane, Evan Panich and Mark Pearlstein continue to represent Universal Health Services in a False Claims Act lawsuit. The district court judge hearing the case has removed all claims dated after 2011 from the suit originally brought by Julio Escobar. The case previously reached the US Supreme Court, and Ms. McLane told the judge that the plaintiffs “have not alleged anything that even remotely approaches the Supreme Court’s materiality standard.”
