Amandeep Sidhu, who has represented Sikhs seeking religious accommodation to join the US military, said that because a federal judge has “unequivocally rejected” the Army’s attempt to bar a Sikh from joining ROTC while retaining his religious dress, the case “should be a reminder to the U.S. military that the shelf-life of its policy of excluding Sikh soldiers has expired.
