McDermott’s bankruptcy law practice of 40 partners was ranked number eight among major law firms. The firm was described as offering clients the opportunity to partner with top local counsel in individual foreign jurisdictions such as Brazil, as well as providing global service through offices in London, Milan, Paris, Rome and Shanghai and three cities in Germany. “When it’s necessary for us to retain counsel in other jurisdictions, we can very quickly and easily respond,” said practice leader Timothy Walsh. “We don’t have the same cost or overhead structure that [other firms] have.”
