Lawmakers Are Looking at Their Own Millionaires’ Tax, but It’s Going to Take a While

Robert Cordy, a former Supreme Judicial Court justice, said that a legislative proposal to change the Massachusetts Constitution to impose a so-called millionaires’ tax would likely pass legal muster. “It is my view that the exclusions that applied to this initiative petition to amend the Constitution would not apply to a legislative proposal to amend the Constitution,” he said.
