Mark Pearlstein said the absence of Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s widow from the trial of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, and her lack of an immunity deal, suggests that federal prosecutors are reserving the right to pursue her. “It appears she’s within the scope of the investigation,” Mr. Pearlstein said, adding that such witnesses often invoke their Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination if subpoenaed to testify without being granted immunity.
