Lawyers Weigh In On DOJ’s Newman Appeal To High Court

Eugene Goldman predicted a “great likelihood” that the Supreme Court will accept the Justice Department’s appeal of the US. v. Newman insider trading case. The DOJ’s request asks “whether Newman went too far in holding that the requisite personal benefit to the tipper under a gifting theory requires something akin to a quid pro quo,” Mr. Goldman added.
